Pumpkin Patch We are headed to the pumpkin patch this Monday. We will be leaving the school about 9:15. It will take us about 1/2 hour to get to Mile High Farms. We are asking that all children come ready to explore the farm with closed toe shoes, long pants and a lightweight jacket. Monday's weather looks to be about 60 degrees however, the morning will still be quite cool. The children will have the chance to pick out small pumpkin to bring back to class. Please don't forget that all children will need some kind of a sack lunch. I know the children are certainly looking forward to it.
Fall Break, Our fall break is scheduled for October 27th through October 31st. We will return to school on Nov. 4th.
Exploring the World Around Us The students have really ben engaged in our new science unit Air and Weather. They have had the chance to explore air, different types of clouds, how air moves through the use of bubbles and pinwheels. We have also explored the tools meteorologists use to forecast the weather. Your children have enjoyed discovering how the weather is forecasted. Hopefully, they are sharing some of their new found information with you at home.
Parent Teacher Conferences Reports cards will be going home on Friday, November 8th. Parent/Teacher conferences will be held the following week. (November 11th-14th ) I will be setting up a parent conference sign up sheet this next week. I use an internet program called Sign Up Genius. This program allows you to schedule a time that works for you. When I have it up and running everyone will be sent an e-mail notification that will invite you to sign up for a time. If you would prefer not to use sign up genius you can send me your top 3 choices of time and I will try to assign you a time that will best meet your needs. I will be doing some conferences before school, after school until about 4:oo, a late night on Thursday, and all day Friday. Just a reminder, due to Conferences the week of November 11th, there will be No School on Friday, November 15th.
